- Elective credits from college of engineering majors can be listed as elective courses for this department, but the upper limit is 9 credits.
- "Modern Physics" in the Department of Physics is listed as an elective credit for majors.
- "General Chemistry I" in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is listed as an elective credit for majors.

- Free elective subjects can take the professional elective courses of the belonged department or professional courses of other departments.
- Students from this department take elective courses with the same name as the department or general education center in external departments, which shall not be included in free elective credits and graduation credits.
