About IBP_ME
International Bachelor Degree Program in Mechanical Engineering (IBP_ME)
Taiwan is famous for its semiconductor industries, precision manufacturing, and high-quality machine tools. The demand for mechanical engineers has been dramatically increasing. The quality of higher education in Taiwan is also well-known and has attracted much attention from international students around the world. In response to this demand, the College of Engineering at National Chung Cheng University (CCU) will begin offering the IBP_ME in September 2025, with the Department of Mechanical Engineering (ME) serving as the primary supporting department. The program takes four years of study and requires the successful completion of 128 credits. Students in this program will gain professional knowledge and hands-on experience through a capstone course.
Department of Mechanical Engineering
Founded in 1991, the Department of Mechanical Engineering consists of 28 professors from prestigious universities worldwide, all holding PhDs and bringing substantial industrial experience. ME’s teaching emphasizes both academic excellence and engagement in intercollegiate activities and competitions, equipping students with expertise in the fundamentals of ME as well as multidisciplinary applications. The department has demonstrated strong research capabilities and enjoys an excellent reputation in the fields of machine tools and intelligent manufacturing. Since 2008, the ME curriculum has been accredited by the Taiwan Institute of Engineering Education (IEET).
